Rev. Gordon Loren arrived in Renton on January 1, 1969 to begin work toward developing Nativity Lutheran Church. The first service was conducted at the Lake Youngs on May 22, 1969 with 39 in attendance. The congregation began meeting at Fairwood Elementary School on September 7, 1969.
